Book 10

Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

Absolutely loved this book – it had me crying and laughing which I always feel is the sign of a good book (unless you’re crying out of frustrating with how crap the book is..).

The book is about Lina whose mom, prior to passing away, makes her promise to go to Florence, Italy to get to know her father. At first she is quite reluctant to get to know this man who hasn’t been part of her life for 16 years but things change when she gets her mother’s diary and learns more about her past.

I love that the characters are so well rounded, you feel what they feel and you root for their happy ending. I love that it’s not a generic story and that there’s depth to it. I definitely recommend this to YA and not so YA!

Also, you may want to brush up on your Italian as there are quite a few Italian phrases peppered in the book.

Happy Reading!
